Didn't like it or triggers or pet peeve! ====================================== Someone recommended and I downloaded the book without seeing the reviews of my friends. My bad. Zero spends 7 years mentally abusing Zeroine and cheating her. Zeroine is an amoeba without a backbone who is depressed and suffering at home alone trying to please Zero. He is verbally abusive too, she feels like nothing. Zeroine changes the body surgically and starves herself to become a bag of bones in search of perfection to try to please Zero. They do not have sex for 7 years, she stays celibate and he fucks everything that moves and has a hole. Then a picture of him with one of his lovers leaks to the press and she wakes up. Zeroine packs up and goes to a luxury hotel to suffer. After all, she's rich, LOL! Zero decides he wants her back, I think he missed his emotional punching bag. Both declare eternal love, all shit he did is forgotten and we have an HEA. Our doormat, aka Zeroine, is happier than pig in the mud. Zero is all filled with love and declaring eternal faithfulness. He has the courage to be possessive and jealous and all alpha male about her. But he treated Zeroine as trash for seven years. WTF! Nothing convinced me and I felt everything more fake than Zeroine's tits. We also have an evil father, who is not really her father. A vain mother and doormat who enjoys luxury only and never defended Zeroine. A sister with a stick in her ass. An ex-lover causing scandal and that is a cheap copy of Zeroine, big tits and all. Drama that can not give credibility in the story, only fill in between the sex scenes. I do have a new message, but it’s the same message I’ve been receiving for months. It’s cryptic and it confuses me. The same sentence every single time – Pete doesn’t love you. He loves me, bitch. “Don’t you want children, Pete? All of our friends are having babies and we don’t... “Fuck, no. Not with you,” he spits. I haven't fucked my own wife since the day we came back from our honeymoon. That being said, she still stood in front of me, begging for a baby like I would ever bring a kid into this fucked up life of ours. I want to be rid of her and I only have three years left. I walk toward a place I try to never go, but I always cave in. Always. “Hey, baby,” she says. Her long dark hair isn’t silk, like Libby’s. She has broken ends. It isn’t soft, either, but feels like straw. “Hey,” I grunt when she wraps her body around mine. She presses her hard tits against my chest as her big fake lips press against mine. I don’t want her, I want my wife, but I’ll use this girl for now. I move my mouth so her lips miss and landed on my cheek. I can’t kiss her mouth. I never have and I never will. I go inside of her apartment and I fuck her anyway. Pete doesn’t want me, but he apparently wants the cheaper version of me. The woman isn’t ugly, but she looked like a whore, with skintight clothes that hugged her body in an almost vulgar manner. Her makeup was too dark and her hair was teased too high. He told me when we were first married that he wasn’t planning on being faithful. I never thought for a moment that he was, but seeing the evidence with my own two eyes is more than I could handle. Seven years without getting laid is ridiculous. He obviously isn't abstaining. Even though he told me in the beginning that he would get his somewhere else, my stupid brain wouldn’t accept it. I held out hope that he would realize how much he loved me and he would just be mine. I had been such a girl about it all these years, living on hopes and prayers. Not anymore. I was finally fed-up. “Jolene, your ever so helpful publicist, sent me a picture of you and your whore; told me to fix my problem with you because she wasn’t going to keep the next one under wraps,” The man who said he hated me, who was sleeping with a cheap carbon copy of me—he loves me? “Neglect and infidelity can be just as harmful as fists, Pete,” Jackson says. “You fuck around on her a lot?” Carlos asks. “Yeah. Yeah, I did a lot,” I admit. “She doesn’t deserve to have her husband stick his dick in every whore around town.” I say the words before I realize the implications. Unlike you, I haven’t fucked half of the country, so excuse me. Not that it matters anymore. In a few months, we’ll be free to do what and whoever we want to,” I announce. “But she needs a man who fucks around on her? She needs to look like his whore?”

This is no exaggeration. I think this is the WORST book this book reviewer has ever attempted to read...in my entire life! After exchanging a few emails with the author I hesitantly received an ARC...knowing I would have to take into account a hero who had a lot to make up for (dumped heroine after the honeymoon/marriage in name only/was with OW...all due to his greed in pursuing his baseball career/wealth due to a twisted contract agreement with her fake father, but taking his own self disgust This is no exaggeration. Yeah, what was I thinking? In my defense, I wanted to give this guy a chance to redeem himself and figured she would grow a backbone & bring him to his knees. Hey, I read dark mafia romances. I've seen a lot of tough bad boys brought out of the darkness and into the light of redemption. Unfortunately, I absolutely wasn't prepared for all the other things I would hate about this one. #1 A spineless, stupid heroine who talks tough but is another but, #2 A hero whose idea of making things up to his wife for the past 7 years of hell is calling her Baby, shrugging it off, & telling her now things are going to be great #3 Crude, crass language that doesn't fit the characters and isn't even necessary. Heck, even rich, elitist, insanely wealthy grandma talks like a sailor on shore leave. #4 Silted/wooden writing, #5 Characters actions/words don't fit how they would act under these circumstances. (I.e., heroine leaves him, finally has had ENOUGH but then has sex with him.) I could go on...but what's the point. I think I've made mine clear enough. Here's to hoping those who read the previous two books enjoy this one. It completely missed the mark with this reviewer. PS. What did I expect/hope for? A strong heroine who leaves...and actually makes him work for her forgiveness/another chance.

What a flipping train wreck of a story! A 7 year cheating hero, all because he took his anger out on his wife so he could take a sweet deal to further his career. I adored this book. This series just keeps getting better and better with each book. I have been dying to read Libby's story since her weird behavior in book 2. Ew. Finally, though she has always known he cheated because he TOLD her he was, she gets photographic evidence, and she leaves. The rat, jerk face hero gets an epiphany, and realizes he was wrong about her and wants her back. Boom. Just like that. She really wasn't in on her dad's plot. But, he admits, that he was really just mad at himself all along anyway. Oh, my, sweet sanity. Just kill me now. I have never hated a hero more in the history of reading. What made it worse was the spineless heroine who just TOOK HIM BACK. No long discussions about STDs, and the guy was sleeping with crack whores...literally. I am not passing judgement. It gets worse, and it is what no woman should ever accept. The lack of true understanding of the depth of the heroine's pain by the hero is mind boggling. At one point, she is expressing how his seven years cheat-a-thon has gutted her, and he laughs, LAUGHS, because she is "being so cute"!! How is this the appropriate response?! Ever? Then she takes him back because he is just so hot and remembers she likes orange soda, and I. Can't. Even....!!! So, why two stars? Because there were some genuinely funny verbal moments, and I saw signs that the author can write. She needs better editing, and I absolutely hated the main characters, but there is potential here.

"Being perfect is what's most important anyway; or at least appearing so. Perfection has been ingrained in me since birth. It is how I survive my chaotic life." Libby and Pete fell in love when they were young. Coming from opposites sides of the tracks, each felt they had to prove their worth. Through some unforeseen events, they have grown apart and now struggle to make any connection with each other. We read their story as they divulge their secrets and deepest desires in hopes that they may be able to find love again. “When all else fails, ride him until he can’t remember the contract even exists." Get ready to fall for the world's biggest manwhore. Told in dual points of view, Forced Play for Libby was a sexy and hot read with tons of humor, angst, and spicy moments. Pete was one of the most delectable male characters. His mouth was so deliciously dirty and he had this same type of risque love for Libby. I initially thought that Libby would likely be the good girl that played by the rules. But, when it came to Pete, the rules be damned. She was the kindling that allowed his fire to burn hotter. The storyline itself had me twisted in one sentence and in stitches the next; one minute I was furious, and the next I was laughing uncontrollably. Being set in the baseball world, the unique nature of the storyline held my attention without a problem, and fed my desire for romance and continuous steam. I look forward to more from this author. "This is love. There is no timestamp."

But something happens, and he suddenly realizes what a gem his wife in name only really is and is determined to start over. That is where I couldn't move on-7 years of doing whatever you wanted to whoever you wanted and now you want a second chance? Ms. Faiman draws her readers in with her stories and her writing is concise and crisp and clean. I just couldn't move past the old Pete. The new Pete was almost gushing with his pet names for Libby and was contrite. Libby had her own reasons for staying in the marriage, and when she has enough-she is done and makes Peter work for it. Would I keep reading this series-yes. The characters are interesting and I like the series. Personally, I have issues with cheating and that is a hard line with me. I think if Pete had wised up a lot sooner, I would have been able to move passed his infidelity.

Libby is old money rich, her family expects few things from her: marry upper class, have babies and appear perfect at all times, the idea of being in a loveless marriage scares her. Then there is Pete poor boy from the wrong side of the tracks at college on a scholarship and focusing on baseball, sex and women while he's there, until he meets Libby. He decided then and there that he wants her and will have her, always. Once they returned home from an amazing honeymoon full of sex and romance Pete announces that their marriage is in name only and he will not be with her intimately. After 7 years of being ignored and hated by her husband Libby gets an email that changes everything. She decided enough is enough and she goes full force to make a change. Will Libby’s father ruin any future happiness for them by the choices he gave them in the past. Hayley Faiman did an amazing job with this series but to me this one is the best one. Forced Play for Libby makes you connect with Libby in ways that you can only feel if you have ever doubted yourself or your worth. If you have ever decided to stay in a situation because you think your love will be enough. Will love be enough or will Libby decide that the lies and past 7 years of a loveless marriage is too much to move past... Will Libby’s father see the error in his ways or does he try to repeat the same mistake...? How much is too much when you aren't sure if the love is 2 sided or if you past are nothing other than years full of lies, deceit, infidelity and pain...

I am a total sucker for a sweet guy, and at the beginning Pete was anything but sweet. But... She did it, Hayley made me cry for Pete and at that moment I was "Team Pete" all the way. This bad boy took me on such an emotional journey with some of the lowest lows to the highest highs. This man could cut you with a phrase one moment and then melt your heart with that same mouth. It took Libby finding her inner strength and not putting up with Pete's ways to wake him up and bring out his true self. I loved that once Libby made up her mind she stuck to her guns and made Pete work to get her back. She didn't just fall at his feet, however she also didn't give up loving the only man she truly cared about. This story was about 2 lost souls finding their way back to each other. Once they found their way back, they really heated things up. These two showed their passion for each other wether they were loving or fighting, they didn't hold anything back. I have loved the previous 2 books in the Men Of Baseball Series. Each volume just keeps getting better. I love how each book is a standalone, but if you read them together, you get to see subtle things that tie each book together. Well done Hayley Faiman. I can't wait to read Victoria's story to round out the stories of these amazing women and the baseball players who love them so passionately.

Pete's eyes are finally opened to the truth, and decides he needs to get the woman he loves back. Can the NY Yankee get his wife back, or has he damaged the marriage for good? OMG this story gutted me, and Libby had more grace than I would have ever had through it all. The character development is spot on great, with the secondaries adding more awesome to the story. A heart breaking, fast paced, and well written story line flowed effortlessly, and I couldn't get enough. I finished it in one sitting with my heart racing cover to cover. Hayley Faiman does and amazing job with merging baseball and romance perfectly, on top of pulling the gut wrenching emotions out of me. I got so caught up that I had to remind myself that I was reading a book, as I called Pete all kinds of bad names like I knew him personally. The chemistry is off the charts, with SMOKIN HOT sexy scene goodness, and the all encompassing love over flowed out of my kindle. I'm addicted and love this author's talented writing style so very much so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I have been dying for Libby's story, from the first book in the series I always wondered what was going on with her. Well Libby stole my heart. She is one of those characters that will worm her way in and not leave. Peter and Libby's story is not rainbows and butterflies, it is raw and emotional and all honestly its a whirlwind!!! The emotions I went through with this book are insane!! I loved every moment of it and I never wanted this darn book to end!!! Between the characters, Hayley's superb writing, some amazingly hot chemistry and a plot that pulls you in, this was by far one of my favorite reads!!! Everything worked!!! I just want to shout READ THIS BOOK and everyone will listen to me!! This is one of my favorite series and Libby and Peter have just added so much more!! Definitely a book I can see myself rereading. I am beyond excited for whatever Hayley has to come in the future, I will not so patiently waiting!!!!

Ok, so I have made it clear I LOVE LOVE LOVE this baseball series but the story about Libby and Pete.... I was in utter shock when I first read it. Couldn't believe the relationship they had and frankly wanted to bash Pete over the head. Thankfully Hayley came through. She has created another great edition in this series and has redeemed Pete in my eyes. If you don't like emotional upheaval and yelling at your ipad. This is not the series for you!!! Kudos for ripping my heart right out and stomp Ok, so I have made it clear I LOVE LOVE LOVE this baseball series but the story about Libby and Pete.... I was in utter shock when I first read it. 2.5 stars. I knew the premise going in, so I wasn't sure how the H would be redeemed - but he pretty much was (the h made it a little too easy for my liking). But the last third dragged a little bit for me, and I ended up skimming quite a bit. Haven't read the other books, and I wasn't lost at all. May check them out at some point. 2.5 stars. Another home run for Hayley Faiman! Hayley Faiman has unique way of writing these complex characters and drawing you in until you"re completely invested in their story. I couldn't imagine living such a sham of a life and to actual love the man that made me feel so weak, useless and broken; but Libby did love Pete so much my heart broke for her. Pete had his own reasons for his behavior and being a stubborn ass man he, as well as Libby suffered in silence for years. I didn't like the way that he treated Libby so cold and cruelly and I hated that Libby never asked why! Why didn't she confront him at the beginning and ask WHY DO YOU TREAT ME THIS WAY!! And why did Libby wait so long to leave? I loved how once Libby decided to leave she did it and she didn't go back to status quo, she made him prove his love for her and he did!! I loved seeing how Pete and Libby's love evolved into an all consuming, powerful need for each other!! Hayley Faiman knocked it out of the park with this one!

Pete and Libby I love Pete and Libby. They go through so much throughout their lives before and after their married. They are what their friends consider the perfect couple, but it wasn't what it seemed to be. With the outside world affecting and pushing things for Pete and Libby they're forced to face the things they've buried between them. Pete is forced to man up and prove himself to be a worthy husband. And oh man does he. Libby is forced to face things she wasn't willing to see it admit to h Pete and Libby I love Pete and Libby. Libby and Pete both out the work required to have their HEA. Love this couple.

It's ok This book was recommended in a group in in. I was excited to try a new author for me. It started out great and then slowly started to go down hill. I can't stand when the cheater gets away with only a simple apology and then it's her fault for bringing it up. Then everyone telling the h that she needs to forgive and forget. Seriously!!!! Even the grandmother wanted her to forgive the seven years of cheating and hateful words. Ugh.... NO that needed serious groveling on broken glass...
